Terms & Conditions

This online document sets out the terms and conditions under which Buzz A Geek Pty Ltd will provide you with onsite or remote services. This Agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia. Buzz A Geek Pty Ltd and You irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts operating in Queensland. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions:
  • Onsite Visit / Onsite Support / Onsite Service – a single on-site visit (1 Hour Onsite Support at your home or office) for the purpose of providing onsite computer support services.
  • Terms and Conditions – these terms and conditions.
  • We / Us / Our – Buzz A Geek Pty Ltd.
  • You / Your – the company, employee, customer, client, or person who has requested/booked the onsite visit from Buzz A Geek Pty Ltd.
  • Fees – for each Onsite Visit, a minimum onsite Fee of $180.00 will be billed, plus $45.00 for every 15 minutes after the first hour of onsite service (if required).
  • Parties – the parties entering into this Agreement.

Onsite & Remote Support

  • Our technicians will provide onsite and remote support services for the fees outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
  • You or a person over the age of 18 must be present for us to provide our IT services.
  • In some cases, technicians may not be able to perform a repair or service due to pre-existing conditions of your device. Existing conditions may include defects or failure in any software, data, or computer hardware component.
  • If a reasonable solution is not found, you will not be invoiced for our services.
  • If our staff indicate that a positive outcome may not be possible and you choose to proceed, we reserve the right to charge for our time and any hardware incurred.
  • We reserve the right not to provide a service if minimum requirements are not met or technical requirements are unusual, extensive, or beyond the scope of our service.
  • Repairs on devices still under manufacturer warranty may void that warranty.

Backups

  • You are responsible for backing up all data, files, information, and software stored on your device, including cloud-related storage, prior to commencement of services.
  • Some repairs may involve complete, irrevocable deletion of data.
  • Buzz A Geek will not back up data unless specifically requested and paid for.
  • Any backup made by Buzz A Geek is a single copy, which must be retrieved promptly or will be destroyed.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buzz A Geek is not liable for any loss, corruption, disclosure, or alteration of any data.

Fees

  • Onsite Support: $180 per hour (including GST). The first hour is charged up front.
  • Billing: Starts when the technician arrives on-site. Additional time billed in 15-minute blocks at $45 per block.
  • Remote IT Support: Same rate as Onsite Support, billed in 15-minute blocks.
  • Payment Methods: Credit Card and Bank Transfer only. No payment plans offered.
  • Payment Terms: Payable immediately after service. Credit Card transactions incur processing fees.
  • Fees may vary based on location, outside business hours, or extra costs (e.g., CBD parking).

Cancellation Fee (Less than 24 Hours Notice)

  • We may charge a cancellation fee if less than 24 hours notice is provided.
  • “Reasonable notice” is at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.
  • Notice must be made by phone or email.
  • The cancellation fee may equal the first hour of onsite service.
  • Debit or Credit cards will automatically be charged, including any merchant fees.

Liability

  • You agree to indemnify Buzz A Geek against all loss, damage, liability, claims, and expenses arising from any Service or Product to the fullest extent permitted by Australian law.
  • Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
  • For major failures, you are entitled to:
    • Cancel your service contract and obtain a refund for unused portions.
    • Choose a refund or replacement for goods.
  • For non-major failures, rectification within a reasonable time is required; if not resolved, a refund for the service may be issued.
  • Total liability is limited to fees paid for the service or product.
  • Use of services is at your own risk.

Same-Day Service & Service Areas

  • Same-day service is only available in major CBDs or established regional areas.
  • We cannot guarantee same-day service.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments at any time.

30-Day Money Back Guarantee

  • In certain circumstances, we will honor a 30-day money back guarantee if we fail to provide adequate service or a solution.
Not covered by the guarantee:

  • Failure of existing hardware or new hardware added.
  • Automatic or manual changes made to your environment by yourself or a third party.
  • Connectivity issues with your Internet Service Provider.

Special Offer – Additional Remote Support for Cartridge World Customers

  • Complimentary 30 minutes of remote support is offered after a new printer installation.
  • Must be used within 30 days of installation.
  • Non-transferable and limited to printer-related support.
  • Additional support beyond 30 minutes or onsite visits will incur extra costs.
