Who is Buzz A Geek?

Buzz A Geek was founded in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in 2010 with a goal to deliver IT users jargon-free, simple IT solutions

We aim to help our clients improve personal and professional outcomes through streamlined and more efficient IT systems.

Buzz A Geek has grown slowly but consistently. We are proud to now provide an Australia-wide service giving IT users across the country access to mobile technicians at their home and business any time of night and day.

Essential requirements for all contracted positions

Able to communicate clearly and concisely so customers understand the problem and resolution regardless of their technical knowledge
Five years’ experience in a relevant position
Relevant up-to-date insurance in place (public liability and personal indemnity) **
A valid ABN number and invoicing system
Your own laptop with working Ethernet and WIFI port
Access to a Smartphone that can transmit photos via email
Access to a reliable, well-maintained vehicle
Access to any other equipment required to carry out repairs in hard-to-reach areas

Buzz A Geek has a number of opportunities for a variety of permanent and contract roles. Not only are we looking for IT technicians at a range of experience levels, but we also need support staff including IT helpdesk and customer experience.

With flexibility at the heart of the organisation, all positions within Buzz A Geek are based remotely giving technicians and contractors the freedom to work when they choose and in their preferred environment.

You will rely on your formal training and specific experience to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve customer IT problems in the fastest and most efficient way.

You will build rapport with every client to enhance their experience with Buzz A Geek to ensure customer satisfaction so that each client builds a relationship with the brand rather than a one-off transaction.

We are looking for a junior self-starter and enthusiastic IT technician to join our team on the Sunshine Coast.

This individual needs to be well versed in Microsoft technologies and must have gone through formal Microsoft 365 training.

I.T. Technicians (Contracted)

We are often looking for technicians to help support our customers. These I.T technicians are contracted to us to perform ad-hoc I.T. support work. This work might be onsite and/or remote. So if you are a very small business with a valid ABN number and a proven track record of providing solid I.T. solutions, get in contact with us.

Cable & Ethernet Technicians (Contracted)

The main responsibility of a Cable technician is the install, repair and maintenance of existing residential cabling. Cabling will likely include Ethernet CAT6 wiring, MDF wiring, fibre and other Internet-related connections.
