Buzz A Geek is looking for independent contracted IT technicians to help support our growing customer base.
As a contracted technician, you’ll perform ad-hoc IT support work, either onsite or remotely. This is ideal for self-employed IT professionals or small IT businesses looking to fill gaps in their schedules, expand their workload, or take on new clients with full backing from our organisation.
— Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues using your technical expertise
— Build rapport with clients to maximise satisfaction (similar to your own client interactions)
— Provide follow-up support if needed
— Respond to job bookings via SMS and email
— Select the suburbs you wish to cover and types of jobs you’d like to take on (PCs, Macs, Servers, etc.)
Experience
— Minimum 5 years of IT experience providing onsite support for hardware and operating systems (PC, Mac, iOS, Android) in home and office environments
— Strong troubleshooting skills and technical toolkit
— Good time management and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues in plain language
— Relevant IT qualifications and industry tenure
Equipment
— Laptop with working Ethernet and WiFi port
— Smartphone or tablet for photos and interaction with web-based technician portal
— USB self-powered hub, wireless keyboard and mouse
— Own reliable, well-maintained vehicle
Personal Requirements
— Up-to-date Police Check
— Relevant insurances (Public Liability and Personal Indemnity)
— Valid Australian Business Number (ABN) with ability to issue electronic invoices in PDF format
